Block Party at Iron Mountain Market!

Sometimes, the universe just seems to align itself in perfect order for a set of events to come about.

For organizers of the Iron Mountain Market, that’s the way it seemed when they realized that July 4 was going to fall on a Saturday, a natural market day, and then that it also happened to be the market’s monthly Yard Sale Day.
“We got to thinking about it,” explained organizer Rhonda Belcher, “and we thought….hey….why not just make one huge day of it! We can even watch the fireworks from the market at the train depot!”

So…the event has turned into a “Block Party”.

“We just felt this was the perfect time for neighbors and friends to visit with one another, enjoy the market, and enjoy the whole Fourth of July holiday,” laughed Belcher. “Why not? We’ve already got food and lots of fun!”

Even music is being added to the day’s menu.

Danny Williams will be providing the musical entertainment through the day and into the night.
Belcher explained that Williams teaches music, and that some of his students who have formed bands will be performing, including “Work Horse,” “Gig Bitten” and “Rock Ink”.

“That will be a lot of fun to see some of these new artists perform,” said Belcher.

Food will definitely not be in short supply, with everything from bbq pork sandwiches to the usual vendors providing favorites liked freshly baked breads and Trader’s Truffles.

“A&D Frozen Treats will also be on hand,” said Belcher, adding ice cream sandwiches, popsicles and ice cream to the holiday treats. Also on hand will be Bahama Mama’s Empanadas. Flavored lemonades, cookies, cakes, muffins, and cupcakes will also be treats offered. Tim’s Dawg House will be offering his hotdogs and sausages.

“People can find a lot of really unique products at the Iron Mountain Market,” added Belcher. “It’s just a really fun place to shop and come out to meet people. And it will be an even busier place July 4!” And, of course, produce will be for sale.

Also featured Saturday will be a kids’ booth in which the kids will learn how to make home made ice cream.

“It will definitely be an All-American celebration, complete with parade, food, drinks, cool arts and crafts, and a fun place to sit back and watch the fireworks! Perfect location!” concluded Belcher. “We hope to see a lot of people there!”
